Foreign tours: Money PCB earns does not belong to public: minister

Minister of Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC) Riaz Hussain Pirzada said on Monday that the money earned by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) did not belong to public since there was no cricket in the country.
“It is not the public money, as an autonomous board, the PCB has every right to use those funds,” Pirzada told the NA Standing Committee at the IPC ministry.
The committee’s chairperson Abdul Qahar Wadan and other lawmakers inquired about the visits of the PCB chairperson Shahryar Khan with entourage of top management, especially the recent visit to England with national cricket team.
Khan asked in which capacity PCB chief and other members were visiting England with cricket team when coaches were already there. Chief Operating Officer Subhan Ahmed replied that there was an International Cricket Council’s meeting and a visit of England’s PM so the chief had to be there.
