In custody: Prisoner dies after prolonged illness
He was awarded a death penalty but it could not be implemented due to his ailment

A bedridden prisoner, who was serving life imprisonment in the central prison in Sukkur, died after a prolonged illness in the jail ward of Civil hospital on Saturday night. The accused, Sadiq Narejo, was a resident of Naudero district in Larkana. Narejo had suffered a paralysis attack some time ago. Narejo was wanted by the Khairpur and Sukkur police in many cases of crime, including murder, kidnapping and highway robberies. He was arrested in 2008 after an encounter and was sent to the central jail in September, 2008. He was awarded a death penalty but it could not be implemented due to his ailment.
