Revelation: Nargis Fakhri was fighting fatal ailment

When Nargis Fakhri left India in the middle of Housefull 3 promotions, there were rumours she had a nervous breakdown following her split with Uday Chopra. However, the actor recently revealed that none of it was true and she was actually fighting a life-threatening disease. She had to rush back to the US because she had arsenic and lead poisoning.
“When I came here, I had arsenic and lead poisoning and no one knew what was wrong with me. It can happen in many ways — it could be in the water or food,” The Indian Express quoted Fakhri as saying. “The doctor tested me, but he was so scared because it was at a very high level and I asked him ‘What do I do?’ But then, I found a remedy myself.”
She began using Ayurvedic medicine. “It is based on naturopathy and it was a combination of different things that I researched. Six months later, I got the test done again and everything came clear,” she shared.
According to reports, Fakhri’s mother had also taken the help of Ayurveda when she was suffering from cancer.
The 36-year-old actor also spoke about marriage. “I am not into marriage. You look at all the marriages breaking down and all the people cheating on their spouses and you become cynical. Marriage is nothing but a label,” she stated. “I am an independent, educated woman. I make my own money, take care of my mom and I am single so I can do whatever I want. I don’t need to take anyone’s permission and that is the best part.”
