Man confesses to killing son
He later confessed to killing his son saying that his wife and father-in-law had wanted to kill him

Police said on Thursday they had arrested a man for killing his son, dumping his body in the canal and reporting him missing. A spokesperson for police said that on August 17, Ahmad Asadullah had registered a case with Shalimar police saying that his five-year-old son Muhammad Ahmad had gone missing. He had told police that he believed that Ahmad had been kidnapped.
He said he had left his son at the parking lot and gone shopping at a Baghbanpura market. He said when he came back, his son was missing. On August 22, Ahmad’s body was found from BRB Canal in Mustafabad area of Kasur. Ahmad’s grandfather identified it.
Police later established that Asadullah had not visited the market on August 17. He later confessed to killing his son saying that his wife and father-in-law had wanted to kill him. He said he had thrown Ahmad from the Canal Bridge near Nathoki village and fled.
