ISLAMABAD: Police officers have been directed to utilise all available resources for the security of media houses, banks, business places and educational institutions of the city, based on the directives of the acting IG of the capital city’s police force.

He was addressing a meeting at the central police office that was attended by Security SSP Mir Wais Niaz, Operations SSP Sajid Kiani, Islamabad Traffic Police SSP Malik Matloob Ahmed, various SPs, and other officers.

Moreover, the IGP directed police officers to kerb crime and protect the lives and property of citizens.

He instructed all high-level officers to visit sensitive areas in their respective domains to gauge security arrangements there.

He further added that security officials must increase checking at entrance and exit points of the city, in addition to improving the police patrolling across the federal capital.

Furthermore, he said that all police wings must work in synergy in coordinated activities along with exchanging information.

He said the protection of citizens was the prime responsibility of law enforcement agencies.

The IGP said that it is imperative to adopt a positive attitude in dealing with citizens, viewing their lodged complaints in police stations appropriately and take necessary decisions to resolve matters.
