One Constitution Avenue: CDA given additional time to reply
Time had been granted by Justice Athar Minallah to newly-appointed CDA counsel
ISLAMABAD:
The Islamabad High Court on Wednesday granted additional time to the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to submit a reply regarding its decision to terminate a lease agreement with the developers of the One Constitution Avenue complex. Time had been granted by Justice Athar Minallah to newly-appointed CDA counsel, Salman Akram Raja, till September 7. The counsel for the firm, while opposing the request to grant additional time, requested the court to suspend the decision so that they could continue construction work at the site while the case was pending before the court. The firm’s request was turned down. Meanwhile, 18 other investors have filed a petition before the same court stating that their rights had also been affected by the decisions. The court accepted the petition and clubbed it with the main case.
