Domestic violence: Woman moves court for FIR against husband
Sidra said she had gone to the police station to file a complaint against her husband, but the SHO did not listen

An additional district and sessions judge on Wednesday directed the Shalimar station house officer (SHO) to submit his comments on the petition of a woman seeking registration of a domestic violence case against her husband.
Petitioner Sidra submitted to the court that she had married Asghar Ali some years ago and she was now mother of a minor daughter.
She said that Ali was in the habit of using offensive language against her and beating her.
She said that Ali had attacked her with a knife a few days ago and injured her hand.
She said that her neighbours rescued her when she raised an alarm.
Sidra said that she had gone to the police station to file a complaint against her husband, but the SHO had not listened to her. She prayed to the court to direct the SHO to register a domestic violence case against her husband.
