‘PSP or minus-Altaf not answer to miseries’
JI’s Karachi chief says only way forward is to give space to ‘real representatives’
KARACHI:
Neither the Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) nor minus-Altaf Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) is the solution to the problems of the country.
Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi chief Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said this at the party’s ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ rally on Tuesday, adding that the only way forward is to give space to the ‘real representatives’ of the city. The rally was organised to pay tribute to Pakistan and to denounce the anti-state attitude exhibited by the MQM.
MQM's decisions will be taken in Pakistan, Farooq tells Altaf
Addressing the rally, JI secretary-general Liaqat Baloch said that criminal elements committing treason are being exposed in Karachi. He said that those shouting slogans against Pakistan will be eliminated, while the motherland of Pakistan will remain forever.
He condemned the attacks allegedly carried out by the MQM on media outlets and said that the entire country stands united for media freedom.
Baloch remarked that an overnight detention changed the mind of the entire MQM leadership. He was of the view that while the party has been making the city hostage for the last three decades, its days are now numbered. He went on to say that the agents of Indian intelligence agency Research Analysis Wing (RAW) should be exposed and anti-state elements should be eliminated. He urged upon the military leadership and the Rangers to take solid steps to ensure durable peace in the city.
MQM must distance itself from militants: Rashid
During his speech, the JI Karachi ameer said that the series of events that unfolded on Monday will be remembered as a black day in the history of the country.
Rehman remarked that it was not the first time as the MQM leader had abused the motherland on various occasions. He criticised MQM chief for committing ‘sedition’. He was of the view that Altaf had made a mockery of the sacrifices rendered by thousands of Muslims of the then Hindustan.
