Finding the solution: Imran calls one-on-one meeting with disgruntled lawmakers
Will meet Chief Minister Pervez Khattak today in Bani Gala
PESHAWAR:
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairperson Imran Khan has called a one-on-one meeting with those K-P lawmakers who have reservations against Chief Minister Pervez Khattak. On the other hand, the chief minister will meet Imran on Wednesday (today) in Bani Gala, Islamabad to resolve the issues of disgruntled MPAs.
While talking to The Express Tribune, a PTI K-P member, wishing not to be named, said the party chief has called all the MPAs, one by one, to discuss their reservations with the chief minister.
He added the meeting with MPAs has started.
Moreover, he added, Imran has called the chief minister to Bani Gala, where they would discuss the current situation of the province and grievances of disgruntled lawmakers.
He believed the chief minister would meet Imran, but would not sit with the disgruntled lawmakers.
One of the displeased lawmakers, requesting anonymity, confirmed that Imran would meet the chief minister on Wednesday, adding they would meet the party chief on August 26.
The lawmakers said the refusal to meet the disgruntled lawmakers would be tantamount to refusing the party chief’s directives. He added they would meet Imran, but have nothing to do with the chief minister’s meeting.
However, another such lawmaker, an MNA from PTI, Junaid Akbar, told The Express Tribune the date for their meeting with Imran had not been finalised yet. He added they have presented all their issues and grievances with the chief minister and hoped the party chief would resolve these matters.
He denied that the chief minister would not meet them, saying he was ready to resolve all internal issues.
On August 20, Imran met disgruntled lawmakers in Bani Gala and listened to their 11-point demands. In the two-hour-long meeting, the lawmakers told Imran about their grievances against the chief minister. The party chief assured them of resolving all the internal issues.
