Amir Liaquat bids farewell to MQM, politics
“I am fed up now. I am not in the MQM from today,” he announced during live show on a private TV channel Tuesday evening, saying he is fed up with the way the party functions.
“I apologise again and again to Pakistan and Pakistanis. Nothing is more important to me than Pakistan."

“If he can’t control himself, he should stay away from politics and write books instead,” he said while referring to Altaf Hussain.
Sattar in a presser earlier during the day said the MQM will disassociate with anyone who resorted to violence and the party affairs will be run from Pakistan.
“Slogans were raised yesterday regarding the state of Pakistan which should not have been raised at any cost."

Liaquat also spoke to reporters, saying the party is always loyal to the country. He also raised slogans of “Pakistan Zindabad".
Sattar was released from Rangers custody after an overnight detention. He was detained along with nine other MQM leaders on Monday night after party workers attacked media houses following Altaf’s inflammatory speech.
At least one person was killed and over half a dozen injured as MQM workers and police clashed.
