Diphtheria outbreak: Two dead, 150 hospitalised in NWA

At least two children died and 150 others were hospitalised as diphtheria epidemic spread all over North Waziristan. Dr Rehman Afridi, a surgeon, told The Express Tribune 500 children have been vaccinated at hospitals and basic health units. “We have also sent teams to carry out home-to-home vaccinations,” Afridi said. Various villages have been severely affected by the diseases. “We have reported more than 1,000 cases in Plangzai village,” Afridi added.
