The park is being constructed in NA-52 the constituency of Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan.
A senior official of the PHA informed The Express Tribune that the Punjab government had released Rs130 million for the construction of the park that would cover an area of 125 kanal.
The land had been earmarked and the construction work would soon be started, he said.
The park along with green areas will include a cricket ground, volleyball court, and a basketball court.
The PHA has been in process of preparing its PC-I.
The authority has also planned for the construction of another park on Rawal Road named “Shahbaz Sharif Park”.
The PHA Director-General, Abid Malik, when contacted, said that the authority would soon start construction work on the park in Dhoke Munshi.
He said that the park would be a beautiful addition in the Morgah locality and it would also include playgrounds.
Regarding the proposed Shahbaz Sharif Park, Malik said that the Punjab government had released Rs40 million to the building department for construction of its boundary walls.
He said that the PHA would start construction work at the site soon after the land was handed over to the authority.
Malik further said that the authority had planned construction of a Mughal era-style baradari at the famous Fawara Chowk in Raja Bazaar.
He noted that the up-gradation work at Fawara chowk would be sponsored by the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited.
