Actor expresses excitement over sequel of ‘Aankhen’
MUMBAI/KARACHI:
Bollywood actor Sushmita Sen is happy that the sequel of the 2002 hit film Aankhen, which saw her pull off an acclaimed performance, is being made.
“I am just happy that there is a sequel being made because it is a brilliant film. The film was adapted from a famous Marathi play. I am very excited to see the second part,” Sen said at a fashion show where she walked as a showstopper for designer Rebecca Dewan.
The actor was very straightforward when asked if she was contacted for the new movie. “Well, I have a very simple answer for that. My character ended in part one, as she was dead. Therefore, if the makers are making a horror film then only I can reappear otherwise it’s going to be a little difficult,” she said. “But I really feel bad for them; they are going to miss me a lot.”
The former Miss Universe also expressed happiness over the recent success of Indian athletes in Rio Olympics. “To represent your country is a feeling that I have known. When I see someone else do it, I start crying. It’s just very emotional thing for me.”
Talking of representing the country, the Main Hoon Na actor said she feels proud of Priyanka Chopra who has in turn made India proud with her work, internationally.
On the acting front, Sen was last seen in Bengali movie Nirbaak, directed by Rajkahini director Srijit Mukherji. The film-maker is currently making the Hindi remake of the 2015 film with Vidya Balan.
