Garlic Naan
This recipe will help you make garlic bread easily and quickly
Naans are very diverse. You can have them plain or stuff them, top them with different ingredients and play around with the texture. There's just so much to do with this delicious bread that completes every desi gravy dish. This recipe will help you make garlic bread easily and quickly.
Ingredients (yields 3 naans)
All-purpose flour -- 1 ½ cups
Active yeast -- 1 teaspoon
Salt -- 1 teaspoon
Sugar -- 1 teaspoon
Baking soda -- ½ teaspoon
Oil -- 2 ½ teaspoons
Milk -- ¼ cup
Garlic -- 3 cloves, smashed
Butter -- for drizzle
Cilantro leaves -- for garnish
Garlic powder -- for sprinkling
Method
In a mixing bowl, mix together flour, salt, sugar, oil, baking soda, yeast and milk. Mix together and then add warm water gradually until you get a soft dough. Leave dough to rise until double in size. Divide into three equal balls. Roll them out and smear smashed garlic on it and place a few cilantro leaves.
Now, transfer the rolled naans onto a griddle and cook until the bottom part has brown spots. Then bake at 500 degrees Fahrenheit on top rack until it gets a nice golden brown colour.
Now drizzle some butter on the naan and sprinkle some garlic powder. Your garlic naan is ready to be devoured.
