KARACHI:
Dow University of Health Sciences launched a ‘Cyber Textbook’ at its campus on Wednesday. Speaking on the occasion was Dr Shahed Quraishi, who is a consultant otolaryngologist clinical director and honorary senior lecturer in surgical oncology at the University of Sheffield, Doncaster Royal Infirmary.

The Cyber Textbook is aimed at promoting distance learning at the university. The procedure allows candidates unable to attend regular classes to take and fulfil their course requirements online.

It offers around 150 videos, most of which are under 10 minutes each, which demonstrate techniques and offer course material. The ‘Cyber Textbook on Operative Surgery’ scheduled to be conducted by Quraishi from this semester, is part of the ‘ENT Masterclass’. Details on the programme and the courses offered can be found at <www.entmasterclass.com/cybertextbook.htm>.
