Govt insists Panamagate not discussed by cabinet
'Anything published outside the press release is completely misleading and misplaced' govt statement
The federal government on Friday denied the cabinet in its meeting held a day before discussed any issues related to Panamagate.
“During the proceedings of the entire cabinet meeting held on August 18, 2016 (Thursday), no discussion took place on the issue of Panamagate,” read a statement issued by the government.
“Whatever was discussed during the cabinet meeting was explicitly and comprehensively mentioned in the official press release issued by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting … anything published outside the press release is completely misleading and misplaced,” it added.
