IED Blast: One dead, another injured in Bajaur

SHABQADAR: A security official was killed while a civilian was injured when an improvised explosive device went off at a water spring in Bajaur Agency. An official of the political administration confirmed the IED blast in Salarzai. Water bearers said the IED, which was planted on the bank of spring, went off when security officials were taking water from the spring. This led to the official’s death while a passer-by, Azeem Khan, was injured. The injured man was shifted to the hospital, where his condition was stable. Officials of the political administration along with security forces launched a search operation in the area and arrested suspects. Bajaur Agency shares a border with Afghanistan, as well as Mohmand Agency and Malakand Division, and has been cleared after military operations. However, there have been several attacks on security officials and pro-government tribal elders in the area.
