Officials protest omission from Games
Fourteen disciplines excluded from Sindh event to be held next month.
There was a huge uproar from the Sports Association of Sindh (SAS) officials who protested against the exclusion of body-building, baseball, kabaddi, karate, netball, softball, squash, throw ball, tug of war, wushu, chess, muthai, jujutso and sepatakra from the 14th Sindh Games due to be held in March.
To add to their disappointment, the players who won and performed well particularly in karate, netball, squash and wushu, in the National Games in Peshawar, will not get a chance to participate as these categories are not part of the Sindh Games.
The officials fear that by excluding these players who brought honour to the province, their performance and skill will decrease which is not a good sign.
In this connection, a meeting of officials of various sports association was held yesterday and all representatives decided to appeal to the Sindh Sports Minister Mohammad Ali Shah and demand for the inclusion of these categories.
