FAISLABAD: The Allied Hospital in Faislabad presented scenes of a fight zone on Wednesday night when a scuffle broke out between security guards and a family of one of the OPD patients.

Tahir was admitted to the hospital on Tuesday, whose relatives, as per the facility's policy, were denied entry to the Emergency ward.

A battle of words between the guards on duty and the family members soon transformed into a brawl as the security personnel thrashed the relatives severely. Within moments, staffers also joined in, causing panic and chaos in the hospital.

Meanwhile, the patient's family protested outside the Emergency, alleging the guards had subjected them to torture.

When informed about the incident, the Young Doctors Association (YDA) also reached the site, boycotting the Emergency and OPD departments.

Consequently, DCO Suleman Ghani and City Police Officer Afzal Kausar held negotiations with the YDA, and a committee was formed to investigate the incident.
