LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) issued notices on Thursday on a petition filed by the management of Royal Palm Golf and Country Club seeking registration of a criminal case against the railway minister and others for illegally taking possession of the club and damaging its property. Barrister Aitezaz Ahsan, counsel for the club, submitted that railway police, acting at the behest of Minister Saad Rafique and some senior officials, had raided the club and expelled its management officials. He said the railways authorities had caused the management a huge loss. He requested the court to order police to register an FIR against the minister and others for defying court orders in this regard, and damaging the business at the club. Justice Shams Mahmood Mirza issued notices for a September 1 hearing.
