Malfunctioning lift: Delivery boy falls to death in Clifton
Espresso rider killed after falling down an elevator shaft while making delivery
KARACHI:
A delivery boy fell to death on Wednesday night in an elevator accident in Clifton.
Twenty-six-year-old Sajjad Raza, who worked as a delivery rider at Espresso, went to Columbus Tower near Teen Talwar to deliver an order, said a police official at Clifton police station.
He opened the door, which was not locked, and entered the elevator which was not there on the floor.
Raza fell down the elevator shaft as the lift was not there, the official added, explaining that the incident seems to be an accident. However, further investigations are underway.
The body was found on Thursday inside the lift shaft after the family and fellow workers conducted a search for Raza. His bike was found parked outside the apartment complex.
