Candid confessions: A girl has not read ‘Game of Thrones’
Maisie Williams admits she wasn’t allowed to read fantasy novel

Actor Maisie Williams, best known for playing Arya Stark on popular TV series Game of Thrones, says she still has not read the novels the fantasy drama is based on, as her mother felt she was too young for them, reported The Indian Express. The HBO series is an adaptation of A Song of Ice and Fire, by George RR Martin.
“When I started, my mum deemed them inappropriate. But also, at the time, I didn’t really understand the importance of that in my craft. I was a non-actor, never trained and I never really had any passion for reading. I just was Arya when I was younger, and that’s kind of the way it worked out,” Maisie said.
But, before the series ends, the actor wants to read the novels to see if her portrayal of Arya matches up to how it was written. “I brought what I brought to Arya and I’m thrilled with the character I’ve strangely created now,” Maisie added. “It would be amazing to go back and read them after the fact, and see exactly what Arya was supposed to be like. But I keep thinking how funny it’d be, if someone sees me on the London Underground reading Game of Thrones!”
Events company Live Nation recently announced a 28-city live Game of Thrones concert experience at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles, as well. The show, based on music from the award-winning series, is described as a music and visual experience that will bring the Seven Kingdoms to life.
