Incurable Bieber fever

Bieber continues to makes headlines on a daily basis and has swept through many a award ceremony in 2010.

KARACHI:
Born on March 1, 1994 in Ontario, Bieber began singing at a very young age and entered a local singing competition at age 12, where he came second. He taught himself how to play the piano, drums, guitar and trumpet.

In 2007, Bieber and his mother began posting videos of him singing on YouTube so that his family and friends, who could not attend his performances in person could still see Bieber sing. The videos were seen by Scooter Braun, a former marketing executive of So So Def. He later flew Bieber to Atlanta, Georgia and is now Bieber’s manager.

Braun met with Usher after flying Bieber to Atlanta and had the teenager sing for him. Usher immediately bought in to the 'Bieber fever' and he got the singer an audition at Island Def Jam Records that signed with Bieber in October 2008.

Bieber’s debut album My World which was released on November 17, 2009, went straight to No. 6 on the Billboard 200. Bieber’s first single “One Time” placed at No. 12 on the Canadian Hot 100 chart and his latest album My World 2.0 took the music industry by storm by placing in at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. The rest is history as Bieber continues to makes headlines on a daily basis and has swept through many a award ceremony in 2010. His album My World Acoustic features the acoustic versions of Bieber’s previous songs.

And the recent buzz that has  Bieber fans in a frenzy is his film. Recently, fans took pictures and cheered for teen sensation Justin Bieber at the premiere of the singer’s documentary Justin Bieber: Never Say Never held at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on Tuesday. Spotted at the event were top Hollywood icons accompanied by their children. Directed by Jon M Chu, the film will expand on Friday to more than 3,000 theatres to run it's course.

It isn’t a strict concert documentary like Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: The Best of Both Worlds Concert Tour and The Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience. The film features the singer’s documentary footage, recent tours, home movies and You Tube clips that cover his personal life from infancy to the making of a music icon. “I wanted people to know that I’m not just some product, I’m just a regular person, and I’ve been a musician my whole life,” The New York Times reported Bieber saying.

Earlier teen sensation that launched her own movie was Hannah Montana who debuted in at $31.1 million. Next in line were the Jonas Brothers who grossed in just north of $12 million. Never Say Never should debut somewhere in between, speculates Reuters.
