Sahiwal District Police Officer Muhammad Atif Ikram has directed police to launch a crackdown against drug dealers in Sahiwal.

A statement issued by the DPO said the crackdown was underway. This week, the city police had arrested and registered cases against 10 drug pushers. They also seized a sizeable quantity of liquor and drugs.


During the raids, Sahiwal police seized 5kg hashish from Mohalla Ganj Fareed, 1.3kg hashish from Dosehra Ground, 200g heroine from 46-GD, 14 litres of liquor from Amato Colony, 10 litres of liquor from Mazdoor Palli, 25 litres of liquor from a hideout on Dispensary Road, 22 litres of liquor from 50-GD and 20 litres of liquor from a hideout near AC Chowk.

The suspects were identified as Rashid, Tariq, Iftikhar Ahmad, Qasim Ali, Aakash, Haider Ali, Umar Khayyam, Muhammad Afzal, Ghulam Abbas and Ahsan Fareed. Police said investigation was underway and raids were being conducted in various areas.
