Friday

10am — The perfect start

Le Méridien, Nice is the perfect hotel to make your stay absolutely memorable. Overlooking the aqua blue Mediterranean Sea, the hotel rooms have the most picturesque views. The location (right on the vivacious Promenade des Anglais) ensures you are in the centre of all the action. Does this sound too good to be true? It gets better. The hotel also has a breath-taking private beach. Don’t forget your phone for those Instagram photos!

3pm — A sea full of possibilities

When in Nice, you can’t miss out on spending time at the beach. Start the day by taking on a variety of water sports. For thrill seekers, the beaches of Nice offer many activities. You can paraglide over the scenic views, Jet Ski or get an adrenaline-rush through the ‘mattress’ water sport. If you get tired, take a break to sunbathe on the sandy beaches, while enjoying fresh juices. For jet setters, hire a yacht or catamaran to sail out into the sea.

8pm — The local flavour

After a long day of touring the city, head over to the famous Place Masséna to indulge your taste buds in scintillating cuisine. Having been to a number of restaurants in the area, I can tell you that all the cafés here are absolutely wonderful. Once you decide on an eatery, don’t forget to dive into some fresh seafood. Whether it’s the fried calamari, juicy prawns or grilled sea bass, each dish is simply divine.



Saturday

9am — Breakfast of champions

One of the perks of staying at a great hotel is the amazing breakfast. Le Méridien’s elaborate breakfast spread is served on a panoramic terrace. The selection of freshly baked croissants and pâtisserie, and the exquisite view, guarantee you a great morning.

2:30pm — The Nice way

On your second day in Nice, you might want to get familiar with the quaint town. The best way to do so is by booking a place on a Segway tour. If you’re a Segway amateur rest assure the tour team will make you feel absolutely comfortable. Once you’re ready to go, be prepared to have lots of fun! The journey starts on the coastline and moves into the charming city streets, giving you a flavour of everyday life in Nice. The two-hour tour encompasses all the important landmarks, historical sites, shops and beaches, sure to leave you fascinated and intrigued.

7pm — Tongue twisters

A meal at La Petite Maison is a must when in Nice. The extensive menu boasts a variety of mouth-watering dishes. The spaghetti goes highly recommended and don’t forget to order at least one seafood item.

10pm — A sweet ending

After your meal, take a stroll in the old town of Nice, to visit the widely recognised gelato shop, Fenocchio Glacier. Bustling with people waiting to get their hands on this heavenly ice cream, the all-flavour-encompassing menu will leave you speechless. Enjoy a scoop, or 12, of this hand-made local delight, to make your trip that much more special.



Sunday

11am — Retail therapy

On your final day, treat yourself to a shopping spree. If luxury designer wear is your style, head over to Avenue de Suède for the latest fashion, right off the runway. From the classic favourites like Louis Vuitton to the contemporary Zadig & Voltaire, all your fashion fantasies can be fulfilled here. If you’re looking for some local flavour, wake up early to explore the fruit and flower markets, offering the best of fresh produce. As you explore the pebbled streets of the old town, you’ll find an assortment of local artisan shops with crafts and products, which will make for treasurable souvenirs.

3pm — Walk through time

The Massena Museum, only a short walk from the Le Méridien, takes visitors on a historical tour of Nice. Experience southern France in a different time, while discovering the region’s finest art. The highlight of this museum is the lush garden, designed by a prominent artist. 

8:30pm — The last supper

You don’t have to go too far to enjoy a delightful dinner on your last night in Nice. Head to the top floor of Le Méridien to savour a meal at La Terrasse; much awarded and topping the list of several food connoisseurs, this restaurant with a view, is simply spectacular. The fine dining experience, and the composed ambiance and exclusivity, creates a magical evening. The ‘Sea Bream’ and club sandwiches are highly recommended — be ready to savour gastronomically superior cuisine.
