SC grants federation time over NAB chairman appointment
Court grants counsel time to consult with client over the appointment of chairman NAB.
ISLAMABAD:
The Supreme Court on Wednesday granted time to the counsel for Federation to consult his client over the appointment of Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB) issue and apprise it on Thursday.
Abdul Hafeez Pirzada, counsel for Federation, appearing before a four-Judge bench, headed by Justice Javed Iqbal, over the pending pleas, maintained that being law officer of the Court and not as counsel for Federation, he was of the opinion that if there were any technical lacunae in the notification, it could be rectified without a discontinuity of the process.
Justice Asif Saeed Khan Khosa, a member of the bench, remarked that the first notification could be revoked to rectify the "consultation process".
The bench is seized with hearing of pleas of Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan and Shahid Orakzai.
