LAHORE:
An additional district and sessions judge on Tuesday sought comments from the Sabzazar SHO on a petition filed by a woman seeking a case against her husband. She has accused him of trying to sell her to a gang of sex traffickers.

The petitioner told the court that her husband Pappu was an addict. “He used to often press me to become a prostitute so he could feed his drug habit…when I refused, he hit me.”

She said a few weeks ago, her husband brought home an unidentified man who raped her at gunpoint. She said that she had tried to resist but her husband made her drink an intoxicating beverage after which she fainted.

The petitioner said she later found out that her husband was in talks to sell her to a prostitution ring. She said she had managed to flee. “I visited the Sabzazar SHO to file a complaint against my husband but he refused to do so.”

The petitioner requested the court to direct the SHO to register a case against her husband and his family.
