A prisoner at Rawalpindi Central Jail at Adiala attempted suicide on Sunday.
ASI Ghulam said Yaseen Khan alias Tehseen Lucky allegedly injured his face and other parts of a body with a razor blade in cell number 6 of the jail. Khan is in judicial custody on charges of attempted murder and robbery. He is kept in a newly-built block of the jail.

However, a reason for why Khan took the extreme step could not be ascertained. Police have registered a case and started an investigation.
Meanwhile, a youth was found murdered on roof of his house in Gujar Khan on Sunday, and a body was found in the Civil Lines area.
In April, an undertrial prisoner jumped off from the second floor of a city court building in Karachi in an attempt to escape, a police official confirmed.
Suspected bomber escapes from ATC in Karachi
The suspect, identified as Hashim, held in a narcotics case received serious injuries as he attempted to escape from the court by jumping off the second floor. He has been shifted to Civil Hospital.
Hashim was to be presented before court by police officers to seek his remand.
