Poor waste disposal: Polyclinic official suspended
The minister also directed the management to issue tenders at the earliest to stock up medicine in the pharmacy
ISLAMABAD:
Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) Minister Tariq Fazal Chaudhry on Thursday suspended Polyclinic Chief Casualty Medical Officer on account of poor medical waste disposal facilities in the emergency department.
During a surprise visit to the hospital, the minister inspected the waste disposal system at the emergency and took the staff to task for not following the standard procedures.
He directed the hospital management to adhere to best practices for the disposal of hospital waste to avoid the spread of infectious diseases. The minister visited different wards and asked about treatment facilities being provided to them.
The minister also directed the management to issue tenders at the earliest to stock up medicine in the pharmacy. He also directed to provide more sitting facilities and clean drinking water to the patients and their attendants.
