KARACHI:
The law enforcement agencies (LEAs) raided the house of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) worker Amir Baig, said the party during a press conference at Korangi No. 6 on Wednesday.

"In the early hours of August 9, LEA's raided Baig's house and took away his sister, Saima, when they could not find him," stated MQM MPA Amir Moin Pirzada. Saima was also present at the press conference.

Officials, who were dressed in plainclothes, reportedly misbehaved with Saima and harassed her for over an hour as they took her in their car, he said, requesting that the Supreme Court chief justice take a sou motu notice of the incident. Such officials have started raids in Landhi and Korangi also, causing trouble for the people of the city, Pirzada added.

"The officials kept on asking me about my brother after confirming that I belonged to the Urdu-speaking community," said Saima, asking that the relevant authorities investigate and inform her who the officials were.

No law-enforcement agency has yet owned the raid.
