When I wasn't new to cooking, I dreaded baking breads. They seemed so impossible to me that I barely ever baked bread. But to be honest, I guess I hadn't found my holy grail recipe for a basic bread dough. This recipe passes that test. Try it and you'd love it, too.

Ingredients

For the dough

All-purpose flour -- 2 ½ cups

Active yeast -- 2 teaspoons

Milk -- ½ cup

Olive oil -- ¼ cup

Sugar -- 1 teaspoon

Salt -- 1 teaspoon

For the filling

Mince beef -- 200gm

Bell pepper -- ½, chopped

Onion -- ½, chopped

Black pepper -- 1 ½ teaspoons

Salt -- to taste

Red chilli powder -- ½ teaspoon

Mozzarella cheese -- ½ cup

Method

In a bowl, mix together flour, sugar, salt, oil, milk and yeast. Knead into a soft dough using warm water added slowly.

Put dough in a new bowl and drizzle some oil on it and cover with cling film. Leave it in a warm place to rise. When double in size, knead once more and divide into two equal parts.

Now, in a pan, cook mince until water evaporates. Add chopped onion and bell peppers. Then season the meat and add chilli powder.

Next, roll one part of the dough in a rectangular shape and butter it. Spoon the filling in the centre. Place mozzarella on top. Now slit the sides with a pizza cutter. Fold alternatively, tucking and pinching each side under the other. Glaze with butter and sprinkle some sesame seeds. Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 25 minutes or until golden brown.

Enjoy!
