Demanding reforms: Fata political alliance to protest
JAMRUD:
All Fata Political Alliance will hold a protest on August 30 if the federal government fails to announce the much-touted reforms package for the region by Independence Day. This was declared by alliance’s president, Shah Faisal Afridi, in a joint declaration after a grand jirga. “Fata has been suffering through a draconian law [FCR] since the beginning of 19th century and tribespeople are being treated as secondary citizens in the 21st. We will protest against the injustice to Fata residents,” Manzoor Afridi, a member of the association, said on the occasion. Meanwhile, Zargun Shah Afridi said the tribal areas are without mobile phone services since the military operation.
