Fans of Bollywood beauty Sonakshi Sinha now more reasons to celebrate. Not only is her action film Akira coming out on September 2 but it has also been confirmed that her next film Noor will be out in theatres on April 7 next year, reported IANS.
Sonakshi — who will be seen essaying the role of a journalist in the upcoming film — shared the news via Twitter on Friday night. “The date is set! Noor arrives on April 7, 2017. Life is good; I’ve got my glow on. Yay, Noor the film!” she tweeted.
Noor will also see model and actor Shibani Dandekar share screen space with Sonakshi. “Noor is coming to a theatre near you on April 7, 2017,” Shibani wrote. “So excited and blessed to be a part of such a fabulous team and a wonderful project. Can’t wait to share with you all! Life is good!”
The film has been directed by Sunhil Sippy and is an adaptation of the Pakistani novel Karachi, You’re Killing Me! written by journalist and author Saba Imtiaz. It follows the life of a 20-year-old named Ayesha Khan, living in Karachi and working as a news reporter.
In the meantime, Sonakshi is busy promoting Akira, for which she is equally excited. In fact, she has also lent her voice to a song for the film. In an earlier interview, Sonakshi revealed that the track is about rage and how she – the lead character – does not stay silent but fights back. According to Sonakshi, she had never planned on crooning the song herself. Rather, it was something that just happened out of the blue. “It was a very spur of the moment thing and honestly, all my rehearsals happened while shooting the video,” Sonakshi shared.
