Livestock: 600 poultry units distributed
“Officials will visit them to vaccinate and treat the chickens, hens and roosters.”
MULTAN:
The Livestock Department has given 600 poultry units to farmers at subsidised rates in July, Livestock District Officer Sibtain Bhatti said on Wednesday. He said each poultry unit comprised five hens (native breeds) and a rooster. A unit was sold for Rs1,320, he said. The actual cost of a poultry unit is Rs2,200. “The poultry units were distributed with a view to boost the poultry sector in rural areas,” Bhatti said. Farmers who had received the units had been registered with the department. “Officials will visit them to vaccinate and treat the chickens, hens and roosters.”
