Jadeed named football captain
Rizwan made his deputy for Pakistan's tour of Thailand.
KARACHI:
The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) has named Jadeed Khan as captain and Rizwan Asif as vice-captain for the under-21 team bound for Thailand where it will be playing its 2012 Olympic qualifying tie against Malaysia.
Khan, who represented the Pakistan Premier League winners Wapda, made his international debut in 2008 against Maldives. Captaincy came Khan’s way when the PFF’s first choice, defender Muhammad Haji, was released from the camp after a knee injury.
The striker will also lead the team in the two-match series against Palestine besides the four matches against different clubs in Thailand before the Olympic qualifiers. The Olympic qualifiers will take place on February 27 in Kuala Lumpur, while Pakistan will host the second match in Lahore on March 9.
