SC allows PSP officers to become a party in suo motu case

The Supreme Court’s two-judge bench heard a suo motu case regarding posting of the PSP officers in the FIA

ISLAMABAD:
The top court has allowed a plea of the Police Service of Pakistan (PSP) officers to become a party in a suo motu case against their posting in the Federal Investigating Agency (FIA).

The Supreme Court’s two-judge bench heard a suo motu case regarding posting of the PSP officers in the FIA on cadre posts, BS-18 to BS-22.

PSP officers’ counsel Hamid Khan contended the officers were duly posted in the FIA after fulfilling the criteria laid down in the FIA Act 1974.

FIA counsel said the junior officers posted in FIA were promoted as additional directors and the FIA officers were made their subordinate. The case was adjourned till the third week of August.
