ABBOTABAD:
The Abbottabad bench of Peshawar High Court has issued notices of contempt of court proceedings against the administration, dean and Board of Governors chairperson of Ayub Teaching Hospital (ATH), Abbottabad for not implementing the court order.
While speaking to journalists on Tuesday, ATH Junior Registrar Dr Farhat Naz said the selection board of the hospital promoted Dr Yasir Hussain Gilani as senior registrar. Niaz said she deserved the promotion on the basis of her seniority and qualification.
Farhat added she filed a petition in the Abbottabad bench of the high court and requested the court to declare the notification of Gilani’s promotion void.
She added the bench, headed by Justice Qalandar Ali Khan, had set aside the promotion of Gilani on June 21 as senior registrar. Niaz added the court ordered the respondents to reconsider the case in light of claims from both sides.
“However, the ATH administration failed to constitute the selection board to reconsider the promotion case,” she said.
Therefore, while taking notice, the court ordered the respondents to submit replies within seven days of the issuance of the court order. If they failed to do so, contempt of court proceedings would be initiated against them.
