Missing minors: Woman directed to lodge FIR against former husband
Woman alleged that her former husband had forcibly kept their three children with him.
LAHORE:
The district and sessions court on Monday directed a petitioner, who alleged that her former husband had forcibly kept their three children with him, to lodge an FIR against him with the police station concerned.
Nusrat Jamil, a resident of Gulbahar Colony, had filed the petition. She said she had married Jamil Akbar in 1999 and had four children. After a few years, she said, relationship between her and her husband began to deteriorate resulting in separation.
She said she took the children with her to her parent’s house. When she asked Akbar to pay her the Rs50,000 dower settled at the time of their wedding, she said, he threatened her with dire consequences and beat her up at her parent’s house.
He also took away three of her children, Sabahat, 10, Samra, 9, and Minahil, 4, from her.
She said that Akbar had remarried and that his second wife was not good to the children.
She requested the court and asked to direct him to return the children to her.
