Territorial Benches: Asma Jahangir supports LHC decision

Former president of Supreme Court Bar Association Asma Jahangir said on Monday that the decision of Lahore High Court against the creation of more territorial benches was right. Talking to reporters on Monday, she said the LHC full court took the right decision on the matter and professional lawyers should respect it. “The high court will lose its dignity if more regional benches are established,” she said. Jahangir said that Pakistan should take up the matter of Indian atrocities in Kashmir at the international level. “The Kashmiri people want to live independently,” she said.
