Police reforms: Ministry takes steps to improve accountability

ISLAMABAD:
The Ministry of Interior (MoI) has introduced an internal accountability system in the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) police to curb any corruption in the department.

A committee under a senior officer has been established to probe any complaints regarding internal corruption.


A police spokesperson on Saturday said these included identification of crime pockets, crime cluster, action against car lifters and those involved in kidnapping for ransom and robberies.

Moreover, the establishment of modern reporting rooms, computerization of records of 22 police stations,  the establishment of modern reporting rooms in nine police stations, the appointment of reception officers.
