ISLAMABAD:
An Afghan solider who was treated in Peshawar after falling ill at an Afghani post near Bajaur Agency has returned to his country, said Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) in a statement on Friday.
Naik Haider got sick at Nawa Pass Bajaur Agency on July 26 and requested for medical treatment in Pakistan, said the military’s media wing.
He was initially evacuated to agency’s hospital and later on to CMH (Combined Military Hospital) Peshawar. At the hospital he was treated for an appendix related illness.
“He was provided free and best medical treatment on humanitarian ground,” the ISPR said.
On Thursday, after his recovery he returned along with his attendant to Afghanistan. “Naik Haider thanked Government of Pakistan and Army for providing prompt medical treatment,” the statement added.
