Dissolution of marriage: Man kills former sister-in-law

A man killed his former sister-in-law and seriously injured his estranged wife within the Waris Khan police jurisdiction on Thursday. A local court on Thursday decided in favour of Talat Noreen, 22, after she approached the court seeking divorce from estranged husband. The police said that while Noreen and her sister Asma Noreen, 38, were hanging outside a shopping plaza near Naz Cinema Chowk on Benazir Bhutto Road at 1pm, when Waqas Haider, the former husband of Talat Noreen, showed up and opened fire on them, killing Asma on the spot and seriously injuring Talat Noreen. Rescue 1122 staff shifted the body and the injured to the Benazir Bhutto Hospital for medico-legal formalities and treatment. The accused fled the scene, after committing the crime, the police said. The police have registered a case and started investigation.
