Healthy collaboration: Traders meet Spanish ambassador at KPCCI
Complain about visa restriction that hinder investment potential
PESHAWAR:
Traders in the city met Ambassador of Spain to Pakistan Carlos Morales during his visit to Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chamber of Commerce and Industries (KPCCI).
The ambassador assured them trade would be enhanced between both countries to reap investment in the province.
The ambassador’s visit was organised by the traders to help revive the provincial economy, especially hydel power generation as the province has huge potentials in this sector. While speaking at the occasion, the KPCCI President Zulfiqar Ali Khan said law and order and security situation has greatly improved in the province.
He said the negative portrayal of the province in the western media has halted foreign investments in the region. Various senior traders and members of KPCCI were also present at the occasion.
He said the provincial administration is providing a diverse menu of privileges and facilities to investors so the foreign investors can benefits from it.
“The environment of the province is suitable for investment,” he added.
The ambassador was also briefed about the investment opportunities in different sectors of the province.
He appreciated the invitation of traders of the province and also agreed to ensure increased bilateral trade and people-to-people contact between the two countries. This will benefit both the economies and relationships of both the countries.
Easing visa regimes
Many traders complained about the strict visa restrictions which make it harder for investors to visit and invest in Spain. The ambassador ensured measures will be taken to provide visas to investors on priority basis.
