Quake-hit schools: Federal govt urged to arrange funds for reconstruction
Although many of these schools have been reconstructed, many of them still require restoration and maintenance

The federal government has been asked by the Minister for Elementary and Secondary Education Muhammad Atif Khan to arrange funds for reconstruction of quake-affected schools in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
The minister wrote a letter to Minister of State for Education and Professional Training Muhammad Balighur Rahman on July 26 and drew his attention to the matter of the rehabilitation of schools destroyed in 2005.
According to the letter, a copy of which is available with The Express Tribune, Earthquake Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Authority (ERRA) was tasked to devise a strategy to reconstruct infrastructure.
