Recipe: Chicken poppers
Follow these simple steps and enjoy your chicken poppers with honey mustard dipping sauce
Who doesn't love chicken poppers? They're so easy to eat, no fuss and you get yourself a delish snack. Since I like my food spicy, here's my take on Chicken Poppers. Same old technique, but definitely better tasting.
Ingredients
Chicken breast -- 1, cubed
Mustard (plain or Dijon) -- 1 teaspoon
Red chilli powder -- ½ teaspoon
Black pepper -- ½ teaspoon
Garlic powder -- ½ teaspoon
Salt -- to taste
For flour mix:
All-purpose flour -- 1 cup
Cornstarch -- 3 tablespoons
Salt -- ½ teaspoon
Garlic powder -- ½ teaspoon
Red chilli powder -- ½ teaspoon
Black pepper -- ½ teaspoon
Egg -- 1, beaten
Milk -- a dash
For honey mustard dipping sauce:
Mustard -- 4-5 tablespoons
Honey -- 2-3 tablespoons
Method
In a mixing bowl, add chicken and all spices. Mix together and marinate for at least 2 hours.
Separately, mix together flour, cornstarch and all spices in a ziplock bag, set aside. Now beat an egg and add a dash of milk in it.
When the chicken is marinated, dip it in egg mixture first and then transfer into the ziplock bag. Shake the bag so the chicken pieces get coated nicely and evenly.
Then deep fry the chicken until golden brown. Now make the dipping sauce by mixing together mustard and honey.
Enjoy your chicken poppers with the dipping sauce!
