Denied kids: Divorcee tries to jump off SHC building
She was stopped by the male and female security guards from jumping off the building
KARACHI:
A divorced woman tried to commit suicide by jumping off the Sindh High Court (SHC) building’s second floor after her daughters refused to meet her, said court and security officials on Tuesday. They told The Express Tribune that S* had appeared in court in a case regarding custody of her two daughters, who are living with her former husband, Gulfaraz Khan. The case was fixed before a single bench, headed by Justice Muhammad Humayon Khan, where both parties had appeared. They said the bench had allowed S* to meet her two minor daughters outside the courtroom. As her husband took the girls outside the courtroom to let them meet their mother, the minors reportedly refused to meet her. The court officials said that following their refusal, the emotionally charged mother tried to jump off the second floor of the SHC’s New Annexe building. However, she was stopped by the male and female security guards from jumping off the building.
