“When I was getting married, many had predicted my career was over. I think I am the only Bollywood A-lister to get a career and a marriage going on full-fledged, to have worked in as many movies, if not more, after marriage as I have done before,” Bollywood.com quoted Bebo as saying. While the 35-year-old actor is currently busy with her prior shooting commitments, she is all set to begin filming her upcoming film, Veere Di Wedding from next month.
Asked to comment about husband and actor Saif Ali Khan’s take on her decision to continue working, the Udta Punjab star said, “Saif and I are on the same page on this. He tells me never to give up on my career.” She added, “Saif is a modern man. He tells me that if he is going out to work, it is a little selfish to expect that I should sit at home.”
Kareena has also criticised her contemporaries such as Deepika Padukone on the same topic. Earlier this month, when Deepika snubbed marriage rumours, she said, “I am not getting married and I am not pregnant.” While this has nothing to do with Kareena, the comment has left her fuming. According to sources, she feels that while Deepika has all the right to deny her marriage rumours, there was no need to bring pregnancy into it.
