ECP membership: Justice Irshad’s name sent for approval
PESHAWAR:
The parliamentary committee has forwarded the name of Justice (retd) Irshad Qaiser to the prime minister to be included as a member of the election commission from Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
Qaiser was born on June 15, 1954 in Peshawar and was the second woman district and sessions judge in the history of the province.
She was first appointed as a civil judge in 1980.
During her judicial career, she served as an accountability court judge from September 1, 2006 to August 31, 2011.
She also worked as additional district and sessions judge from February 1991 to 1994 and served at different districts.
Besides, Qaiser was deputed as section officer in law department from 1985 to 1991. She was appointed as Peshawar High Court additional judge on July 20, 2012.
