Two women, child dead as dumper runs over auto rickshaw in Quetta

The driver of the dumper escaped from the scene after the fatal accident

QUETTA: A dumper hit an auto rickshaw in Quetta on Monday, leaving at least three people, two women and a child, crushed to death on the spot.

According to police, the dumper carrying sand for a construction company near Sardar Bahadur Khan Women University on Brewery Road lost its control resulting in running over the rickshaw.

The two women and a child were returning home in a rickshaw after shopping when the fatal accident occurred. The rickshaw driver also sustained serious wounds.

“A dumper badly crushed the auto rickshaw as the driver lost his control over it after the brake failure,” a police officer said, adding that all the bodies were in bad shape.

Soon after the horrific incident, police and rescue team rushed to the scene and shifted the bodies and injured driver to the Civil Hospital.

The driver of the dumper escaped from the scene after the incident. Police has registered a case and further investigation is under way.
