Mangla power plant: Technical fault to prolong load shedding
ISLAMABAD:
Due to a technical fault at the Mangla power generation plant, Islamabad Electricity Supply Company (Iesco) grids have been affected.
A total of 13 grids have been affected which include; Jhelum, Rajjar, Dina, Bara Waha, right bank of Mangla,left bank of Mangla, Kallar Syedan, Gujjar Khan and AJK. An Iesco spokesperson said that a leakage had caused the fault.
A load management plan for four days has been presented, under which all the aforementioned areas will face an additional two hours of load shedding.
It is estimated that this will lead to a total of eight hours of load shedding in urban areas, while a total of 10 in rural areas.
